After a string of five wins, Wheeling's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Elk Grove Grenadiers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Grenadiers earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Wheeling sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-18.

Wheeling's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Elk Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.
