Basketball Game Preview: Pine Island Panthers vs. Chatfield Gophers

The Pine Island Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Chatfield Gophers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Pine Island ended up a good deal behind Cannon Falls and lost 65-51. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bombers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Chatfield lost to Lewiston-Altura on the road by a 76-62 margin on Friday. The Gophers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pine Island's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chatfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Pine Island strolled past Chatfield in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 67-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pine Island since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
