Football Recap: North Central Comes Up Short

North Central played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Carmel Greyhounds and fell 63-14. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-0.

North Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Grove, who threw for 164 yards and one touchdown.

It was another big night for Anthony Coellner, who threw for 149 yards and three TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards and one score for Carmel. Coellner has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ayden Johnson, who rushed for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.

North Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carmel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

North Central has already played their next matchup, a 49-14 loss against Lawrence Central on the 3rd. As for Carmel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 43-0 victory against Ben Davis on the 3rd.
