Football Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

North Central played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 63-14 loss at the hands of the Carmel Greyhounds. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-0.

North Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Chase Grove, who threw for 164 yards and one TD.

Anthony Coellner produced another solid effort throwing for 149 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 41 yards and one score for Carmel. The dominant performance also gave Coellner a new career-high in passer rating (169.5). Ayden Johnson was another key player, rushing for 52 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carmel, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

North Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 49-14 defeat against Lawrence Central on the 3rd. As for Carmel, they have also already played their next matchup, a 43-0 win against Ben Davis on the 3rd.
