Softball Recap: St. Joseph Flyers vs. Providence Catholic Provets
St. Joseph had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Providence Catholic Provets with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Flyers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Provets, too.
Alexia Sanchez looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, St. Joseph got a massive performance out of Gianna Morris, who scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave Morris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Grimsinger, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

St. Joseph pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Providence Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will square off against Saint Mary's Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence Catholic, they will face off against St. Anthony at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Catholic is facing St. Anthony at the right time seeing as St. Anthony is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
