Baseball Game Preview: Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan vs. DePaul College Prep Rams

For the second straight game, Chicago Mt. Carmel will face off against DePaul College Prep. The Caravan will host the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over DePaul College Prep. The win continues a trend for the Caravan in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Aidan McGovern, who gave up just three hits to keep DePaul College Prep off the board. McGovern has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tj McQuillan was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Fernandez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Chicago Mt. Carmel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as DePaul College Prep only posted an OBP of .160.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for DePaul College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-6.
