Softball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Takes a Loss

Pojoaque Valley managed to slip by Moriarty the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Elks/Elkettes lost 15-6 to the Pintos on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Elks/Elkettes have suffered against the Pintos since March 29, 2023.

Lauren Salazar was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Izabella Lujan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Pojoaque Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Moriarty, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pojoaque Valley will face off against Espanola Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Elks/Elkettes are facing the Sundevils at the right time seeing as the Sundevils are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Moriarty, they will square off against Los Alamos at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
