Volleyball Recap: Valor Christian Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Regis Jesuit

On Tuesday, Valor Christian faced Regis Jesuit in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Valor Christian Eagles fell 3-1 to the Regis Jesuit Raiders. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Regis Jesuit scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Valor Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mason Walters, who had 11 digs. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Renn Bailey was another key player, getting 13 assists and four digs.

Even though they lost, Valor Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Regis Jesuit only four aces.

Valor Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Valor Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Woods Cross on the 7th. As for Regis Jesuit, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Cherry Creek on the 8th.
