Baseball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short

Fremont couldn't beat Milpitas on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Firebirds fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Firebirds have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Fremont and nudges their season record down to 12-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Milpitas, they pushed their record up to 11-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Fremont will face off against Gunn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Milpitas, they will square off against Santa Clara at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
