Basketball Recap: St. Joseph-Ogden Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rantoul last Tuesday, St. Joseph-Ogden came back down to earth. The St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans fell just short of the Tolono Unity Rockets by a score of 53-50 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Spartans have suffered since December 22, 2023.

St. Joseph-Ogden has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 18-8 record this season. As for Tolono Unity, they pushed their record up to 22-7 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road.

St. Joseph-Ogden and Tolono Unity should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. St. Joseph-Ogden (ranked 127th) will meet Paxton-Buckley-Loda (ranked 351st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tolono Unity will square off against Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 163 places (96 vs. 259).
