Baylor proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the McCallie Blue Tornado 8-7. Winning may never get old, but the Red Raiders sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Matt Dill tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Baylor got a massive performance out of Blake Lundy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Schuman, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Baylor's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.
