Baseball Recap: Irondequoit Find Success

After losing to Rush-Henrietta the last time they met, Irondequoit decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Royal Comets on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Alex McLaughlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Max Spitz was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Landon Bryan was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Irondequoit's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Rush-Henrietta, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irondequoit will face off against Brockport at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rush-Henrietta, they will venture away from home to take on Victor at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
