Basketball Game Preview: Moline Maroons vs. Rock Island Rocks

Moline is 2-8 against Rock Island since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Moline Maroons will be playing at home against the Rock Island Rocks at 1:30 p.m. Moline will be strutting in after a win while Rock Island will be coming in after a loss.

Moline will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 23 points on Saturday, then bounced right back against East Moline United on Thursday. Moline simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Moline United 63-29. The Maroons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Rock Island was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 43-37 to Alleman. The defeat continues a trend for the Rocks in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now lost three in a row.

Rock Island's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Moline, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Moline came up short against Rock Island in their previous meeting back in February, falling 57-52. Can Moline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
