Basketball Recap: Everton's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Everton needed a changed in momentum after dropping 32 straight games and they got it from Joshua Daniels. The Everton Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sheldon Panthers 64-61 thanks in part to Daniels, who dropped a double-double on 45 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Everton's points.

Another player making a difference was Mason Morris, who posted three points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Everton's win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6. As for Sheldon, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bronaugh at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Sheldon, they will head out to challenge Golden City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
