Softball Recap: Stamford Now 13-2 over Last 15 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Stamford had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sundown Roughnecks 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 11th.

Stamford is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sundown, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-6.

Stamford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Roughnecks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
