Whitesboro is 8-0 against Boyd since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Whitesboro Bearcats will face off against the Boyd Yellowjackets at 2:15 p.m. Whitesboro will be strutting in after a victory while Boyd will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Whitesboro strolled past Pilot Point with points to spare, taking the game 59-40. Given Whitesboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Pilot Point is ranked 1110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Boyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 60-50 to Graham.

Whitesboro will need focus on slowing down Lex Horton, one of several Boyd players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Kade Spencer, who put up 13 points.

Whitesboro's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Boyd, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Whitesboro won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2024, slipping by Boyd 36-35. Will Whitesboro repeat their success, or does Boyd have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
