Football Recap: Gordon Lee's Rushing Attack Does It Again

Gordon Lee never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Armuchee Indians 61-0. The matchup marked the Trojans' most dominant victory of the season.

Gordon Lee was led to victory by Dustin Day and Dyllan Currie. Day punched in one rushing score, while Currie rushed for 29 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Currie has posted since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gordon Lee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Gordon Lee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Peyton Groce, Landon Norton, and Currie picked up one apiece. Groce got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Gordon Lee's record is now 6-1. As for Armuchee, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gordon Lee is set to take on their familiar foe Gordon Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Armuchee will square off against rival Fannin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Devyn Davis and Bryson Cole.
