Basketball Recap: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Port Charlotte Pirates
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Petersburg walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Port Charlotte Pirates on Monday, sneaking past 70-67. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Devils.
St. Petersburg found their leader in freshman Nijaun Harris, who went 9-for-21 en route to 28 points. What's more, Harris also posted a 44% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Zach Davis was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 10 points and eight boards.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Nestor, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Dallas Lambert, who posted 12 points and three steals.

St. Petersburg pushed their record up to 17-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Port Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 23-6.
St. Petersburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-52 win against Countryside on the 20th. Port Charlotte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
