Football Recap: Hilliard Takes a Loss

After soaring to 48 points the game before, Hilliard was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the Branford Buccaneers, falling 37-13. The loss continues a trend for the Red Flashes in their meetings with the Buccaneers: they've now lost three in a row.

Kolt King threw for 29 yards on two of five attempts. On the ground, Dj Alderman rushed for 218 yards while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.

Hilliard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Branford, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilliard will venture away from home to square off against Old Plank Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Branford, they will head out to take on Interlachen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
