Basketball Recap: Granada Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

Granada waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 38-33 W against the Walsh Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Bobcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Granada's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards. Coleman's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Fernando Cadena was another key player, putting up six points in addition to ten steals and six rebounds.

Granada smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, Walsh saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gage Caddick posted 12 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Caddick is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Wright, who earned eight points.

Granada's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. As for Walsh, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Coming up, Granada will face off against Las Animas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walsh, they will square off against Boise City at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
