Aydden Cherry Delivers Best Effort of Season

Sadly, Aydden Cherry posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead West Stokes over Reidsville on Friday. Cherry rushed for 206 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

With the defeat, West Stokes broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2. Cherry and West Stokes will be playing at home against McMichael at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dionte Neal Has Career-Day on Friday

Dionte Neal produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Reidsville to the win on Friday. Neal rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The victory for Reidsville keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Neal and Reidsville will head out on the road to square off against Walkertown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Jariel Cobb and Co. Win 19th in a Row

Jariel Cobb was instrumental in extending Reidsville's winning streak to 19 on Friday. Nobody could stop Cobb as he rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 52 yards.

West Stokes had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Cobb it was a similar story. When Cobb last faced the Wildcats back in November of 2023, he rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

Big Game from Carter As Morehead Won 24-14

Braxton Carter was a major factor in Morehead's victory over T.W. Andrews on Friday. T.W. Andrews had no answer to Carter as he rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Carter is becoming a predictor of Morehead's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't).

Morehead's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. Carter and Morehead will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Reidsville at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st.
