Soccer Game Preview: Prosper vs. Princeton

The Prosper Eagles will square off against the Princeton Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Prosper has eight straight victories, Princeton has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Prosper is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Allen, who was ranked first at the time (Prosper was ranked seventh). Prosper won by a goal and slipped past Allen 3-2. The game was the first time Prosper has beaten Allen on their pitch since March 15, 2022.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Princeton's offense. They came up short against Plano West on Friday, falling 8-0.

Prosper's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those eight matchups. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.

Everything went Prosper's way against Princeton in their previous matchup back in February, as Prosper made off with a 4-1 victory. In that contest, Prosper amassed a halftime lead of 4-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
