Basketball Game Preview: Normandy Invaders vs. Steele Comets

The Normandy Invaders will head out to take on the Steele Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Normandy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Rocky River just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 65-51 bruising from the Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Invaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Pirates are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, Steele lost 54-33 to Avon on Saturday. The Comets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Steele's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Normandy, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-5.

Normandy skirted past Steele 42-40 when the teams last played back in January of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Invaders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
