Volleyball Recap: Holmdel Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Southern Regional

Holmdel faced Southern Regional in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Hornets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The shutout was out of character for the Hornets seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Holmdel's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-3. As for Southern Regional, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 23-1.

Holmdel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southern Regional has already played their next game (against Marlboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
