Summit Shasta entered their tilt with Capuchino on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Mustangs 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Black Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Summit Shasta won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 26-24.

Summit Shasta's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Capuchino, they moved to 10-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Summit Shasta and Capuchino should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Black Bears (ranked 298th) will meet More (ranked 1042nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Capuchino will take on Westmoor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (156 vs. 1074).
