Basketball Game Preview: Dickson County Cougars vs. Henry County Patriots

Dickson County is 2-7 against Henry County since February of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dickson County Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Henry County Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Dickson County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Dickson County took their matchup with ease, bagging a 67-32 victory over West Creek. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

Dickson County relied on the efforts of Jenna Saine, who went 6 for 10 en route to 18 points along with five boards and four steals, and Keely Webb, who posted 17 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. That's the most points Saine has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynee Snow, who earned 11 points.

Dickson County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Henry County strolled past Kenwood with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 56-39.

Henry County has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Dickson County, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Dickson County suffered a grim 45-24 defeat to Henry County when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Dickson County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
