Basketball Recap: Pikes Peak Christian Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Pikes Peak Christian duked it out with Front Range Christian on Saturday. The Pikes Peak Christian Eagles took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Front Range Christian Falcons. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Pikes Peak Christian still got an impressive performance from Bella Fletcher, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. What's more, Fletcher also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Sophie Petersen was another key player, putting up a point in addition to ten assists and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pikes Peak Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Pikes Peak Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Front Range Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season.

Pikes Peak Christian has already played their next contest, a 46-28 victory against Dolores Huerta Prep on the 11th. As for Front Range Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-16 win against Clear Creek on the 11th.
