Basketball Recap: Gospel Light Christian Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Gospel Light Christian was feeling good fresh off their 48-6 takedown of Valley Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gospel Light Christian Lions took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Abundant Life Owls. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Owls are ranked 386th).

Abundant Life got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rosie Townsend out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. Townsend is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Amber Kahler was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Gospel Light Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Abundant Life, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-6.

Gospel Light Christian will be playing at home against Arkansas Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Abundant Life, they will take on Little Rock HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
