Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arete Prep). They put the hurt on the North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators with a sharp 10-0 win on Monday. It was an even better day for Owen Whitehead as he scored three goals for his team.

Arete Prep used a slightly different lineup for their bout with North Phoenix Preparatory Academy. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: McCahey Fuerst (40), Cameron Shoemaker (40), and Aiden Patel (40). The trio had averaged 20.6, 20.6, and 21.2 minutes respectively before Monday's matchup. Patel made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Arete Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 41 goals over those eight games. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
