Baseball Recap: Pendleton County Takes a Loss

Pendleton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Juggernauts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Pendleton County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Verst, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Pendleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Lloyd Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Pendleton County will head out on the road to take on Paris at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lloyd Memorial, they will host Bishop Brossart at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Juggernauts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
