Basketball Game Preview: Blake Yellow Jackets vs. Chamberlain Storm

Blake is 1-9 against Chamberlain since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blake Yellow Jackets will head out to take on the Chamberlain Storm at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Blake sitting on three straight victories and Chamberlain on 12.

Blake will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Jefferson, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Blake pulled ahead with a 37-36 photo finish over Jefferson on Friday.

Jorianne Lue and Diyamond Robinson were among the main playmakers for Blake as the former went 7 of 13 on her way to 16 points and four steals and the latter posted six points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lue has scored at least a third of Blake's points.

Meanwhile, Chamberlain earned a 47-40 win over Hillsborough on Friday.

Chamberlain found their leader in sophomore Ellayna Stephens, who had 21 points and seven steals. The contest was Stephens' 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Dejesus, who posted ten points and five steals.

Chamberlain's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Blake, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Blake and Chamberlain were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but Blake came up empty-handed after a 39-38 loss. Can Blake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
