Basketball Recap: Alhambra Takes a Loss

Alhambra lost against Whittier Christian back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Moors took a blow against the Heralds, falling 71-44.

Leland Carrido was nothing short of spectacular for Whittier Christian: he shot 82% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals. The last time Carrido's shooting accuracy was this high was back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of GW London, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 17 points.

Alhambra's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Whittier Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Alhambra will take on San Bernardino in a tournament on Saturday. As for Whittier Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Covina at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
