Baseball Recap: Triumph Charter Comes Up Short

After flying high against Community Charter last Thursday, Triumph Charter came back down to earth. The Jaguars took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Prep Value Wolves on Monday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Triumph Charter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Garcia, who scored four runs and stole seven bases while going 4-for-4. The Jaguars are 7-2 when Garcia posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Another was Simon Trujillo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Triumph Charter now has a losing record of 7-8. As for University Prep Value, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triumph Charter will host Discovery at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.5 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for University Prep Value, they will be playing at home against Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus at 2:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
