Basketball Game Preview: Mid Valley Spartans vs. Dunmore Bucks

Mid Valley is 10-0 against Dunmore since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mid Valley Spartans will face off against the Dunmore Bucks at 7:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Mid Valley ended up a good deal behind Holy Cross and lost 61-45. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost four in a row.

Mid Valley might have lost, but man, Kaleik Cook was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance also gave Cook a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Landon Pratt, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Dunmore suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They came up short against Riverside, falling 72-51. While losing is never fun, the Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Vikings are ranked 31st).

Mid Valley's record is now 9-9. As for Dunmore, their record is now 9-7.

Mid Valley strolled past Dunmore in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 55-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mid Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
