Recap: West Rowan Falcons vs. Carson Cougars
The West Rowan Falcons waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Carson out 63-61. Given West Rowan's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Carson is ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Will Givens, who scored 21 points. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Elijah Holmes was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
West Rowan's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Carson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Rowan will take on Concord at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 231 points over their last three matchups. As for Carson, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Norman Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lake Norman Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
