Recap: Fideles Christian Rangers vs. Young Americans Christian Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Fideles Christian Rangers can now relate to. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Fideles Christian has suffered since November 17, 2023.
Young Americans Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kassidy Scott, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Scott has scored at least a third of Young Americans Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Shelby Housworth, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Fideles Christian now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Young Americans Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.
Fideles Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Young Americans Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lanier Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Lanier Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday.
