Softball Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Southern Alamance Patriots
Apex lost against Southern Alamance back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Apex Cougars fell 15-11 to the Southern Alamance Patriots. Apex has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leah Kendall stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Goodall, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles.
Apex's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Southern Alamance, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apex will face off against Middle Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Southern Alamance, they will head out on the road to challenge Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Alamance is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
