Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. Pilot Point Bearcats

Valley View is 1-7 against Pilot Point since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Valley View Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Pilot Point Bearcats at 12:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Valley View is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Ponder, falling 61-35. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1043rd, while the Lions are ranked 492nd).

Meanwhile, Pilot Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The game between them and Whitesboro didn't end well, with Pilot Point falling 59-40. The match marked Pilot Point's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pilot Point's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Valley View, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Valley View took a serious blow against Pilot Point in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 83-35. Can Valley View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
