Football Recap: Eastern Tech Comes Up Short

Eastern Tech had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it seven. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sparrows Point Pointers. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pointers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Sparrows Point, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.6 points on average this season.

Mikey Maynor produced another solid effort rushing for 142 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 132 rushing yards.

Eastern Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 22-6 loss against Towson on the 16th. As for Sparrows Point, they have also already played their next game, a 22-14 win against Pikesville on the 10th.
