Los Osos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Taylor, who had 12 digs and five kills. Taylor has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Josslyn Jacks, who had 13 kills, nine digs, and two aces.
Los Osos was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Etiwanda was able to grind out a solid win over Upland on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1.
Etiwanda had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.
Los Osos better focus on containing Meaalofa Tauaese and Kamryn Andrews as the pair were huge in Etiwanda's win. Tauaese had 18 assists and 14 digs, while Andrews had nine digs and three aces. With that strong performance, Tauaese is now averaging an impressive 12.1 assists per game.
Los Osos' record now sits at 18-5. As for Etiwanda, their record is now 19-11.
Los Osos came out on top in a nail-biter against Etiwanda in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
