Volleyball Recap: Quincy Notre Dame Comes Up Short on the Road Against Mendon Unity

Quincy Notre Dame kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 2-0 to the Mendon Unity Mustangs. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Quincy Notre Dame was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23.

Kate Gramke paced Quincy Notre Dame's offense, picking up seven kills. Gramke got some help from Taylor Genenbacher and her nine assists. Finally, Eva Breckenkamp kept Quincy Notre Dame's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Quincy Notre Dame didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Hamilton/Warsaw on the 28th. Mendon Unity has also already played their next game (against Barry Western), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
