Basketball Recap: Evelyn Goebel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Biggsville West Central over Bushnell-Prairie City

Biggsville West Central had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans by a score of 36-33. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Biggsville West Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn Goebel, who posted seven points and three steals.

The win got Bushnell-Prairie City back to even at 1-1.

Biggsville West Central has already played their next contest, a 67-19 loss against Mercer County on the 19th. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Beardstown at 6:00 p.m. on December 1.
