Football Recap: Cedar Grove Gets the Win

Cedar Grove was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 42-34 win over the Glen Ridge Ridgers. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Ridgers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Pierce Asfalg continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 233 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 85 yards and a pair of scores. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Cedar Grove also got a significant boost from Thomas Cannataro, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.

Cedar Grove's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Glen Ridge, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
