Football Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Malden

The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Jefferson will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Malden at 7:00 PM. Jefferson are cruising in on a three-game winning streak while Malden are stumbling in off of four consecutive losses.

The crowd came for a game last Friday, and Jefferson and St. Vincent sure delivered. It was a match that couldn't have wound up any closer, but Jefferson snuck past St. Vincent for the 21-20 victory.

Meanwhile, Malden found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-34 punch to the gut against Dexter. The state rankings had actually given Malden a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Jefferson's win lifted them to 8-1 while Malden's defeat dropped them down to 2-7. Jefferson have been dynamite on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 41.78 points per game. We'll see if Malden can find some way to disarm them.
