Softball Recap: O'fallon Sets Scoring Season-High Against Marquette Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask O'Fallon). They blew past the Marquette Catholic Explorers 16-7 on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Saturday.

Kai'A Moe looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Bella Schmitt and Ella Klino did most of the damage at the plate: Schmitt went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Klino went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Schmitt a new career-high. Megan Shull also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

O'Fallon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

O'Fallon's record now sits at 5-8. As for Marquette Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

O'Fallon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Collinsville on the 15th. As for Marquette Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Calhoun on the 15th.
