Last Thursday, San Luis Obispo came up short against Arroyo Grande and fell 3-1. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
San Luis Obispo started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 11-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Sanger West had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against Madera South by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now won five in a row.
Sanger West had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-18, 25-11, 25-16.
San Luis Obispo better focus on containing Jayden Vang and Maximus Inboon as the pair were huge in Sanger West's win. Vang had 34 assists and 11 digs, while Inboon had 13 digs and one assist. Vang has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 12 times he's played.
Sanger West pushed their record up to 24-14 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for San Luis Obispo, their loss dropped their record down to 23-9.
