Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for South Webster

South Webster extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Dylan Shupert. The stars were shining brightly for the South Webster Jeeps in a 73-54 victory over the Expression Prep Academy Lions on Saturday thanks in part to Shupert, who went 11 for 20 on his way to 29 points in addition to five boards and three steals. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Roberts, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game.

Expression Prep Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mitchell Cox, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Cox is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Brown, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

South Webster's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Expression Prep Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

South Webster didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-44 victory against Vinton County on the 27th. As for Expression Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-39 win against Iroquois on the 27th.
