Preview: West Craven Eagles vs. Ayden - Grifton Chargers

West Craven and Ayden - Grifton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The West Craven Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ayden - Grifton Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, West Craven came up short against Pamlico County and fell 65-58. The loss was West Craven's first of the season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Shondre Pugh, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Boomer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, West Craven were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Ayden - Grifton unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a hard 76-57 fall against North Lenoir. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ayden - Grifton has scored all season.

West Craven's record now sits at 4-1. As for Ayden - Grifton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-1.

West Craven was able to grind out a solid victory over Ayden - Grifton in their previous meeting back in January, winning 64-52. Does West Craven have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ayden - Grifton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
