Basketball Game Preview: Brookwood Warriors vs. Deerfield-Windsor Knights

Brookwood is 2-8 against Deerfield-Windsor since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Brookwood Warriors will welcome the Deerfield-Windsor Knights at 6:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Brookwood is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Terrell Academy. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Eagles are ranked 67th).

Ainsley Jacobson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. She has become a key player for Brookwood: the team is 11-4 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. Abigail Squires was another key player, going 5 for 6 on her way to 11 points.

Meanwhile, Deerfield-Windsor ended up a good deal behind John Milledge Academy on Saturday and lost 38-24.

Deerfield-Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Brookwood, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-6.

Brookwood beat Deerfield-Windsor 49-37 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Does Brookwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Deerfield-Windsor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
