Basketball Recap: Glenn Takes a Loss

Glenn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Davie War Eagles 70-1. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 575th, while the War Eagles are ranked 89th).

Davie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avarie Martin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Martin has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emmie Burris, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Glenn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Davie, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Glenn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-20 loss against Parkland on the 17th. Davie has also already played their next game, a 65-21 win against R.J. Reynolds on the 17th.
